Based on comments by both Frank Bullen and Clifford Ashley, porpoise beef is not at all bad, and when aged is quite palatable. Ashley highly recommends the porpoise liver. Bullen is not a fan of sperm whale meat though. Overall, an interesting cookbook, given the times in which is was written. The Eskimo of northern Alaska depend on the Bowhead Whale for a lot of their meat, but after tasting it, I am not sure about muktuk.
